A Place to Bury Strangers

Last night I heard “the loudest band in NYC.”  They were great.  They did not, however, play any “surf rock inflected shoegaze (with just a hint of Echo and The Bunnymen).”  They were loud, and the two key members of the band were the drummer and the smoke machine.
